Shiloh Quibell (they/them) is a graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at Portland State University. They graduated from Ontario Tech University with a Bachelor’s in Communication and Digital Media Studies and a minor in Psychology. Prior to their MSW, Shiloh worked in preschool outdoor education and mental health mentoring in higher education with late teens and young adults. Shiloh is from Canada and moved to Portland to pursue their advocacy work. Within that work, their interest shifted to early childhood mental health and how the first years of a child's life are fundamental in creating healthy attachments and brain pathways that provide the foundation for all future behavior and health.

Shiloh strives to create a safe, accessible, client-led experience. They take pride in meshing unconditional positive regard with compassionate accountability as a way to dismantle shame and harmful messaging from the oppressive systems we exist in. Shiloh reminds clients not to compare themselves to people who grew up with strong support systems and that people can’t do better unless they know better. Some foundational approaches to Shiloh’s work include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

Shiloh will practice under the clinical supervision of Beth Weaver, LCSW, beth@connectionsfirst.org, and adhere to the code of ethics set by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics."
