John Lucke is a Professional Counselor Associate, focusing on working with adults and couples. John works with clients to create an authentic, nonjudgmental relationship in which they can explore the challenges and problems that come with being human. John is client-centered, believing individuals are the experts of their own lives, and utilizes curiosity and empathy to build trust and lasting resilience.
John believes change does not come without effort and a degree of sacrifice. He views therapy as an intentional task geared towards rewriting patterns and changing behaviors in a way useful to and compatible with the client’s unique needs and values. He embraces a systemic understanding of our individual psychic lives, viewing the fundamental influences of society, culture, and community as the foundation his clients’ unique experience. John draws on psychodynamic theories to explore subconscious relational patterns, and to build self-confidence and self-efficacy. John also integrates approaches such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to tackle acute behavior-based problematic symptoms.
John values his zeal for the expansion of awareness of the various life forces that shape our lives. He hopes to share this passion for our shared human condition as a conduit for growth throughout the lifespan.
